Why Nest asks for Accessibility access

Android's Accessibility permission lets Nest see which app is open, so it can count your time and enforce your limits the moment you reach them. Nest doesn't use it to read your messages, what you type, or your passwords, and what it detects stays on your device.

Who is Nest for?

Anyone who wants a healthier relationship with their phone. Use Nest for your own digital balance, or switch to parental control mode to set limits on your child's phone.

How does Nest enforce limits?

Nest uses Android's Accessibility permission to know which app is on screen. When you reach a limit, or a schedule like Sleep starts, Nest blocks the app until the limit resets or the schedule ends.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your phone. Your screen time, limits, and schedules never leave your device, and Nest doesn't need an account. Nest sends crash reports and, only if you allow it, usage statistics to improve the app. The privacy policy has the details.

Will it drain my battery?

Nest is built to run quietly in the background with minimal impact on battery life.

Do I need an account?

No. Install Nest and start setting limits right away. There's no sign-up, and no name, email, or password to share.

What is the Nest Score?

A daily score out of 100 that sums up how balanced your day was. It helps you see your progress at a glance and spot the days when your phone got the better of you.
